- App connection
- An app you plug into Braille, like QuickBooks, Salesforce or your ERP. One app is one connection, however many people use it.
- Searchable entities
- The records Braille reads out of a connected app so it can match a document to the right one: your vendors, customers, jobs and accounts. An invoice from Acme lands against Acme's vendor record, carrying that app's real ID, so nobody retypes it. Count the records you want matched, not every row in the app, and count them per app.
- Braille-native entities
- Records you keep in Braille instead of another app. You choose the fields, workflows fill them, and Braille matches against them the same way. Use these for the lists that live in a spreadsheet today, like a rate card, a site register or an approved-parts list.
An app connection is an app installed in your workspace that Braille ingests entities from. Entities are the records Braille ingests and embeds (vendors, customers, jobs, accounts) so XREF can match against them. Braille-native entities are shapes you define yourself: extract data into them and Braille stores, embeds, and makes them semantically searchable, no external app required. We warn you at 80% of any allowance before overage billing starts.
How usage is counted
Only completed runs count. A run is an app-workflow when any step matches against, or creates or updates, records in an external app. An example is creating a Quickbooks Bill requires a Vendor ID: extracting vendor information, matching against an existing vendor, and writing the vendors ID into the bill. Everything else is a standard workflow. Your plan includes a monthly allowance, and that is the only usage we count. Duplicate submissions are never billed, failures on our side are free, and a run that fails because of its inputs is billed at a heavy discount.
Standard workflow · counts ½
Reads documents, fills your schema, and saves the result. Past your allowance, extra runs bill at your plan's app-workflow rate, shown under its allowance, and a standard workflow bills at half that rate.
App-workflow · counts 1
Matches or writes records in a connected app. Matching against braille-native entities still counts as standard, because that data is covered by its own allowance. The builder shows a workflow's type before you switch it on.
Balances
Your monthly allowance resets each month. Purchased workflow runs never expire and are used after your monthly allowance. We warn you at 80% before overage billing starts, so you never get a bill you didn't see coming.
Rosetta
Rosetta, the big answer to big data. Haystack goes in, needles come out, just the way you intended. Formats and schemas are based on your config, and file sizes up to 250 MB and beyond on Enterprise plans, with full auditing, tracing and data approvals. Available as an add-on to Business and Enterprise plans.

Rosetta is priced per run, never per page, and Rosetta runs don't count against your workflow allowance. Implementations are scoped per engagement with written acceptance criteria, and if we miss them at go-live the fee is refunded.
Billing rules
Duplicates and failed runs
Every set of run inputs is hashed. The same inputs through the same workflow are never billed twice, so duplicates are always free. Failures on our side are free, and a run that fails because of its inputs is billed at a heavy discount. A corrected re-run has new inputs, so it's billed as a new run. Our routing mistakes are fixed and re-run at our cost.
Annual and monthly billing
Prices shown are for annual billing. Month-to-month costs 20% more and has no price lock. Annual billing includes the 90-Day Walkaway and locks your price for the term.
